Books & Reading Materials
We send books, zines, newsletters, and other reading materials to incarcerated people for free. All of our books are from donations. Please let us know the institution’s rules regarding books (hardcover or not, quantity limitations, etc).
Legal Resources
Legal materials, such as chapters and excerpts from Columbia Human Rights Review, the Jailhouse Lawyer’s Handbook, Columbia Jailhouse Lawyer’s Manual, Constitutional Rights of Prisoners, PARC National Resource Directory, Federal Habeas Corpus Appellate Practice Manual, Illinois specific, sample motions, & more. Tell us what you’re looking for. (We can’t provide legal advice or representation)
Internet Newsletter Subscriptions
Newsletters are individually customized based on interests or specific sources: our system automatically retrieves content from websites, blogs, and social media, producing a nicely formatted personalized zine mailed out every few weeks. Common requests are legal/prison news, tattoos, sports, politics, tech, business, Its Going Down, specific Twitter feeds, etc.
You can make a request on behalf of your incarcerated loved ones by submitting a Contact Us form.
Incarcerated people can make requests by writing to us at our mailing address:
